Want to guess when Protest<\/em> was published? In 1914, in a book by Ella Wheeler Wilcox, titled Poems of Problems<\/a>. (She was a prolific writer, there are also poems of experience, of passion, of courage, really books and books of poems in addition to numerous novels. She was quite a complex character worthy of closer examination, but I really don’t want to dilute the prescient words above with more information.
